APVA Award presented to The Maple Ridge Group
The Thomas Jefferson Branch of Preservation Virginia recognized The Maple Ridge Group LC, for the Private Residential Preservation of the Year. On behalf of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin B. Sidders at 1214 Rugby Road, this general contractor carefully preserved their home over an extensive one-year project renovation. The home is an original design by noted architect Eugene Bradbury and it was originally constructed in 1922. The award noted the "careful attention to historic detail, the light touch, and elegant taste displayed in this project." They admired the fact that the house has been preserved in a way that will likely ensure its use as a residence throughout the twenty-first century and beyond. The Thomas Jefferson Chapter recognized that "the Sidders received expert guidance in their project from architect Roger Birle of Dagleish, Gilpin & Paxton and from The Maple Ridge Group LC, general contractor." |
